Meet Andrew, Our Regional Deli Manager
written by Gayle
He was born and grew up in Camarillo, and loved to skate. He even was sponsored in high school by the skate shop, Revolution in Camarillo. Andrew was on a club baseball team his senior year that didn’t win a single game all season, but then took the championship in the playoffs. That was a funny season of baseball!
Andrew used to avoid drinking soda, but now he says that there is nothing more refreshing as a cold Virgil’s Root Beer. He also makes a really great bread using wild yeast.

When I asked Andrew who inspires him, he said that he really admires Michael Pollan, the author of “The Omnivore’s Dilemma,” and other books about food, nature, cultures, and food policies.
Andrew strongly believes in and is passionate about the natural food, cook-it-yourself, avoid-processed-foods movement, so he really enjoys being able to meld that passion with what he gets to do every day. In keeping with that belief and passion, he would like to see stronger food education, as well as taxes on carbon and junk food to encourage people to make better food choices, and businesses to make better environmental decisions.
Andrew says that he has worked at Lassen’s since the day he was born, which is pretty much the truth.
Some of Andrew’s favorite products are the Beehive Cheese Company’s cheese with espresso rind.
He also like Columbus dry Salami, and Joia Ginger, Apricot, and Allspice soda. Yum!
Here are some delicious side dishes that would be great for your holiday feasts, and they are all on sale this month!
Candied Yams |
Carrots and Parsnips |
Roasted Root Vegetables |
Stop into your local Lassen’s and try some of the deli items that Andrew has created, such as a Green Monster! Even if it’s just a grab-and-go item, you’ll be enjoying something that is nutritious and delicious!
